Women in Media Belfast is pleased to announce our first conference on International Women's Day is supported by the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) Belfast and District branch, Phoenix Law and Brown O'Connor Communications.

On March 8th, 2021 we are hosting our first conference on Zoom.

We are delighted with the positive response to our new project.

NUJ Belfast and District branch chair Robin Wilson said: "Journalism as a profession is becoming more and more feminised but this is not reflected in its higher echelons and among editorial decision-makers.

"Diversity is always a key source of fresh thinking and it is important that doors are opened to women at every level of the industry rather than that they face a glass ceiling.

"It is particularly important that all female journalists feel supported by colleagues.

"This is especially so when they face unacceptable misogynistic abuse in the public arena, particularly online."
