NOLLAIG NA MBAN - WEEMEN’S WEE YULETIDE IN NORTH BELFAST
What a night we had…
Women in Media Belfast CIC organised a wee do last night, in conjunction with U105 and the Radio Academy, to mark the end of the festive season.
We were thrilled to be joined by a diverse range of people from journalism, newspapers, digital platforms, writing, radio, communications, PR, law, academia, fashion and the arts, the charity and third sector, government, and not forgetting our new community minded retired pals too!
We all have a stake in the evolving media landscape, amplifying women’s voices, and building community.
Huge thanks to the team at McConnell’s Distillery - Conor, Stacey, and the rest, and to Elizabeth from Lasa for her beautiful food.
We had such a good time, from start to finish, and everyone came away saying what a great event it was. Wholesome, feel good, community vibes.
For those struck down by the lurgy or limited by the wild weather we will see you next time.
We are all thinking of ideas for using the distillery for future events.
It is such a lovely venue, and the cocktail making experience was a real hit with guests.
After our whisky adventure we headed down the Crumlin Road (in the snow) to the new Criterion bar at Carlisle Circus where we were greeted by Shaun, his lovely team, and a welcoming roaring fire.
The drinks and the craic were flowing, and the food from Rebel and Ruse was top notch. Charcuterie, chicken, falafel, salad, jalapeño poppers and more.
Wee Honey the dog was a firm favourite so we are hoping she will agree to be the new WIMB mascot!
We can’t thank everyone enough involved in making our new year social for Nollaig na mBan - Little Christmas - Weemen’s Wee Yuletide - a success.
After a well deserved break we will be busy planning our next programmes of work.
As ever if you have any ideas for socials, events, worshops, and collaborations please get in touch.
Wishing you and your families all the best for 2025.
Love Team WIMB - Niamh, Patricia, and Amanda

CRITERION: Criterion on the Antrim Road at Carlisle Circus is the new kid on the block in north Belfast.
It is a luxurious quality venue, spotlessly clean, welcoming, and the food on location from Rebel & Ruse is a winner.
They are dog friendly, do games nights, trad music, decent pints and more.
Check them out!
